Politechnika Częstochowska at POLECO 2025: Circular Innovation and Sustainable Agriculture in Action
From October 14 to 16, 2025, representatives of Politechnika Częstochowska (Czestochowa University of Technology) took part in the POLECO International Environmental Fair in Poznań, Poland — the country’s largest and most influential event dedicated to environmental protection, circular economy, and sustainable technologies.
The Fair brought together scientists, business representatives, public sector experts, and innovators from across Europe to exchange knowledge and promote practical solutions for a greener future.
Joining the Cluster for Circular Economy and Recycling
One of the key highlights of the event was the official signing of a cooperation agreement between Politechnika Częstochowska and the Cluster of Circular Economy and Recycling (Klaster Gospodarki Cyrkularnej i Recyklingu).
The agreement was signed by Vice-Chancellor for Development, Dr. hab. Eng. Rafał Kobyłecki, Prof. PCz, and Vice-President of the Cluster, Ms. Katarzyna Błachowicz.
On behalf of the university, the cooperation will be coordinated by Dr. hab. Eng. Przemysław Postawa, Prof. PCz.
This partnership connects the research potential of Politechnika Częstochowska with the industrial expertise of Polish enterprises, opening up opportunities for new R&D collaborations in the areas of:
- recycling and recovery of raw materials,
- circular and closed-loop economy systems,
- eco-design and sustainable management of resources.
The signing ceremony, vividly captured in the photographs, symbolized the strong commitment of both institutions to building a more sustainable and circular future for Poland and Europe.
AGRI-BIOCIRCULAR-HUB Presentation: “Farming Without Plastic?”
During POLECO 2025, the University’s team also organized a special panel discussion titled “Uprawy bez plastiku? – Farming Without Plastic?” as part of the AGRI-BIOCIRCULAR-HUB project.
The presentation, led by Dr. hab. Eng. Krystyna Malińska, Prof. PCz (Faculty of Infrastructure and Environment) and Dr. hab. Eng. Przemysław Postawa, Prof. PCz (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering), focused on the use of biodegradable and biobased materials in sustainable agriculture.
The speakers showcased practical applications developed within the Horizon Europe AGRI-BIOCIRCULAR-HUB project, illustrating how innovative biomaterials can replace conventional plastics in agricultural production.
The discussion attracted significant interest among visitors, underlining the relevance of circular technologies for the green transition of the agricultural sector. The event demonstrated how interdisciplinary research — combining environmental engineering, materials science, and agronomy — contributes to sustainable resource use.
Exhibition Stand and Industry Collaboration
Throughout the fair, the Politechnika Częstochowska team presented their innovations at a dedicated booth shared with Granulat BIS, an industrial partner from Częstochowa.
The stand displayed prototypes of biodegradable polymers, biochar, and organic fertilizers, all developed in connection with the AGRI-BIOCIRCULAR-HUB project.
The exhibition became a vibrant meeting point for dialogue between researchers, students, entrepreneurs, and policymakers. The team also engaged visitors with interactive presentations and materials highlighting key research areas:
#Biochar, #PlasticFreeFarming, #CompostableMaterials, and #SustainableAgriculture.
Representatives at the booth included Dr. Krystyna Malińska, Dr. Katarzyna Wystalska, Dr. hab. Eng. Przemysław Postawa, Prof. PCz, and Dr. Eng. Tomasz Stachowiak, supported by colleagues from both university faculties and industry.
A Step Forward in Circular Cooperation
The participation of Politechnika Częstochowska in POLECO 2025 reaffirmed its role as an academic leader actively shaping the dialogue between science and industry in the field of circular innovation.
The event illustrated the practical synergy between the AGRI-BIOCIRCULAR-HUB consortium and its partner institutions, contributing to a shared European vision of sustainable growth and ecological responsibility.
