The Greater Poland Chamber of Agriculture (WIR) is a regional public-law organisation dedicated to representing the interests of farmers and rural communities across the Wielkopolska region. With a strong presence in 226 municipalities and a membership of over 112,000 farms, WIR serves as a bridge between local agricultural producers and policymakers. Its structure includes 31 district offices and a body of 395 elected delegates, making it one of the most influential agricultural chambers in Poland.
WIR provides comprehensive services, including farmer education, support for innovation, assistance with public funding applications, legal counseling, and the organization of local and regional events such as workshops and agricultural fairs. It is a recognised partner in EU and national projects, offering infrastructure and outreach for impactful rural engagement.
ROLE IN THE PROJECT
Our role will be mainly in presenting farmers needs and expectations to project consortium and taking back to farmers its results. We can also present our organisational know how and experiences to Ukrainian partners. We can contribute by providing farmers and rural companies interested in project results, where they can be tested. We can organise workshops and conferences across Wielkopolska region and ensure that targeted group of farmers will participate and benefit from the project. We have also experience in transferring financial support to farmers and companies as we did it before in a case of state grants for liming and other projects. As we have quite well developed structure across Wielkopolska we can address project objectives to targeted groups of farmers in order to enhance the idea of sustainable agriculture. We have rich experience in organising educational and promotional events financed from external sources. We have appropriate equipment to organise such events like conferences, workshops, promotional events anywhere in the region.
