ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
The Latvian Biogas Association (Latvijas Biogāzes Asociācija) is a non-governmental organization established in 1994, making it one of the oldest in Latvia dedicated to renewable energy. Its primary goals include participating in the development and implementation of alternative energy and environmental protection policies in Latvia, as well as supporting the introduction of biogas production and utilization technologies within the country. The association is a member of the European Biogas Association, representing Latvia in this international network. Additionally, it is part of the Latvian Renewable Energy Federation (LAEF), which unites various renewable energy associations active in sectors such as bioenergy, small hydropower, solar, and wind energy.
ROLE IN THE PROJECT
- Support for R&I Regional Pilot (Pilot #3)
- Facilitate access to biogas plants for valorizing digestate into innovative organic fertilizers
- Strategic Contribution
- Define long-term R&I strategies.
- Provide access to cross-border R&I investment cases and partnerships
- Engaging with local stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of project goals and alignment with Latvia’s regional strategies.
