Coordination Meeting at the Department of Ecology Highlights Progress of AGRI-BIOCIRCULAR-HUB
On Thursday, July 31, 2025, a working meeting was held at the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Lviv Regional State Administration between department leadership and representatives of the scientific team from Lviv Polytechnic National University.
The meeting focused on the interim results of the AGRI-BIOCIRCULAR-HUB project, implemented under the Horizon Europe programme. This large-scale initiative brings together 21 partners from Ukraine, Poland, and Latvia to foster circular bioeconomy and smart agriculture across Widening countries.
Lviv Polytechnic acts as the project coordinator, while the Department of Ecology serves as a key public-sector partner responsible for implementing national and regional strategies in the area of sustainable waste management.
Participants reviewed progress from the first half of the year and agreed on a detailed action plan for the upcoming six months. In addition, the meeting included discussion of broader collaboration between the two institutions, including student internships for environmental science students and the participation of department experts on final thesis examination boards.
“AGRI-BIOCIRCULAR-HUB is a strong example of international cooperation where science, government, and society work together toward a model of sustainable development. The involvement of young specialists and students is especially important, as they will shape our ecological future. The department will continue to support such initiatives and deepen partnerships with leading universities in the region,” said Volodymyr Korda, Director of the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
