BETA, with a multidisciplinary team of over 120 researchers and technical personnel is structured in 8 fields of expertise

Environmental Technologies & Circular Bioeconomy, focusing on the development of innovative and sustainable technologies to valorise wastes and recover raw materials and high added value products;
Applied Ecology & Global Change, evaluating ecological impacts associated to different stressors and proposal of mitigation and conservation strategies;
Sustainable Food & Farming Systems, addressing the adequate and responsible management of soils and fertilizing products improving the sustainability of agricultural practices;
Sustainability Accounting and Optimisation working to quantify the environmental, economic and social dimension of sustainability;
Green and Digital Transition
Governance for Sustainability Improving governance processes and increasing the impact of R&I through multi-actor and multi-scale cooperation.
Knowledge Transfer and Territorial-Sectoral Projects, addressing sustainability and bioeconomy challenges for both the public and private sectors.

ROLE IN THE PROJECT

Coordination of the assessment of S3 and R&I long-term strategic framework (T2.1 and T2.3); Technical/scientific support to the R&I regional pilot projects (T3.3); Coordination of site visit to Catalonia ecosystem and innovation missions (T6.1 and T6.4); Support to the mentoring programme to the Ukrainian ecosystem – capacity building, technical/scientific advisory (T7.1 and T7.4).
